Common Causes
Thinner air through the vent
A dryer moves air by volume, and at this elevation that volume weighs about a sixth less than it would at sea level, so the same fan carries less moisture out per minute and cycle times run long before anything is actually wrong.
A restricted vent or lint path
By far the most common cause, and the one most often misread as a heating fault — the heat is being made, it simply cannot leave.
A tripped thermal cut-out
The cut-out trips because airflow is restricted, so replacing it without clearing the restriction buys a few cycles and no more.
