Does my gas range need high-altitude conversion here?
Very likely, yes. Gas burners are jetted for a specific altitude band, and a range set up for sea level runs rich across the Front Range — yellow-tipping flames, soot on burner caps and pan bottoms, and a cooktop that never quite boils as fast as it should. Manufacturers supply high-altitude orifice kits for exactly this. Does a built-in need a different technician from a freestanding unit?
For anything past the basics, yes. Panel weight changes the door hardware, cabinet depth changes the airflow the condenser gets, and dual sealed systems mean a fault on one side shows symptoms on the other. It is the part of the job generalist training does not cover.
