I have cleaned it thoroughly and the smell is still there.

Then it is almost certainly not the interior. Standing water in the drain pan and a gasket that traps moisture in its folds are the two usual sources, and neither responds to cleaning the shelves.

Will a deodoriser fix it?

It masks it. If the cause is moisture sitting somewhere it should not, the smell returns as soon as the deodoriser fades, and you have lost the time you could have spent finding the drain.

Is this worth repairing, or should I replace the unit?

It depends on the part, and on a mass-market unit that genuinely cuts both ways. A pump, a belt, a thermostat, a door switch — inexpensive, quick, clearly worth doing. A compressor or a sealed system in a ten-year-old machine can approach the price of a new one, and when it does we say so rather than quote the work.
